Welcome to the website of Fine Gael Candidate 2016 Gerry Reynolds.
Gerry is from Ballinamore but now lives in Carrick on Shannon. He was previously a member of the Dail and Seanad from 1987 to 2002.
”I have a determination to return to elective politics and to play my part in helping Fine Gael in Government to continue to build a New Ireland. I want to live in a country that encourages business, and where work is rewarded. I want our young people to have an education system that is fit for purpose and responsive to our rapidly changing world. I want to know that age is respected in our New Ireland and I want to be sure that the sick and the marginalised are treated with fairness and equality.
We need to be able to look to the future with ambition and hope, rather than the fear and trepidation that existed when Fine Gael came into Government and rescued this country!
Over the past 14 years I built a successful business, creating and maintaining jobs in our community. I learned a lot over those 14 years, and, in 2008/9 like everybody else in this country, I then had to face into the worst recession this country ever experienced. But things are now changing – the sacrifices made by all of us are now bearing fruit and I want to be part of our new future – in fact I am excited by our future! I want to share my experience, my determination and my courage to work for the people of this Constituency so that we can achieve our potential.
I believe this area requires more job creation opportunities and infrastructural investment to allow us to build a sustainable future for this generation and the next. I want to be your voice in Dail Eireann to ensure that these issues are implemented.”
